Big Vern and the start of his restoration.

Previous Page

Here are some close ups of some of the inner cab problems.

This is the only hole in the floor pan which goes through to the van body chassis, not the vehicle chassis, the body chassis.

This is the only rot on the inner wings, it's on the passenger side and has just started to go right through.

And after a poke about, the hole is bigger and showing more.

So it looks like I will have to have a bit more of a poke around.

Looks like as well as fitting new pedal bushes I will be welding a plate or two in and around them, I never knew this rot was there untill I pulled up the floor rubber matting, which was soaking wet, Toby has suggested using camping floor rolls under the black rubber matting instead of foam, the foam just retains water and rots out the floor..

And last, but not least the removable floor pan section has gone right through here but this is the only place where it has.

Under the Bonnet the main problem is this bit of rot next to the steering UJ. I guess I will have to take some of the bulkhead out and the inner cab floor pan so I can sort this one out.

On the outside at the rear the drivers side door has started to go around the top hinge

I covered the holes in fiberglass a couple of years ago and also red oxide paint, the rot has spread no further and is not that bad here.

The rest of the door only has surface rust
