The engine during the removal process is mainly supported by the Trolley Jack , in the above picture the hoist has been raised and the trolley jack is no longer supporting the engine and you can see the angle the hoist holds it at. It is very hard to get the engine to come out with the hoist doing most of the supporting work and you stand more of a chance of damaging the gearbox input shaft.
