Below
are some pictures of a beautiful RB 44, oh how jealous am I.
Hi greg,
great site.
I found this website
just before christmas a day before we left for Morroco
to test 'Merlin'.
we found him in Ibiza when we where there with our old Iveco motorhome
a
chance conversation with Vaughan at Pacha reveiled this example parked
up at
a local boat yard.
The owner a guy called Rob had gone back to England to sort out his shit
and
been nabbed at Dover on an Old warrant..oops. anyway we tried to buy it,
but
no one in Ibiza wanted to ring strangeways and leave there number!
One year later my
sister in law who works there every season rang to say it
was still there. a couple of phone calls later I had located him and bought
it for 3K.
It is a 1994 registered RB with only 40,000 miles on the clock.
However he is in
love with his Dodge and tells me that his father drove it
in SeeBoard (South east electricity)
it was a mobile workshop for repairing overhead power lines.
only his dad drove it and he kept the inside and outside mint, when the
trucks where being sold off his dad was retiring at the same time.at the
auction seeboard let his dad buy it , it had new tyres the winch and every
thing still in it. what a way to get your truck.
anyway six months
after purchase and a flat out conversion ,
Super quiet generator
,
Air Con,
Hydraulic tail lift for my trail bike,
and all the other usual living stuff,
we went and tested it in the desert.
few slow punctures
( we run tubeless split rims) ,wheel cyls leaked , fuel
tank split ( one we had made) other wise he is great.
two daughters named
her 'Merlin'.
red, is in Morrocco,
in white is a pre-desert-test at Strata
florida, wales ( don't know why we tested it in the wettest track in wales
when we were going to the sahara )
