"The whole rear bed/workshop was deposited at a local breakers

and then about a metre cut off the rear of the chassis

to enable it to replace my scrapped Ford A series

as the tractor unit for my mini artic race car transporter."

"The 5th wheel coupling and air compressor/tanks for the trailer air brakes

were fitted and the cab repainted to match the trailer box.

Since conversion the rig has been to Silverstone, Donington, Brands Hatch,

Lydden, Mallory Park and Spa in Belgium,

usually with race crew of 6 people squeezed in the cab.

The hardest part?.. convincing the DVA to change the registration

to 2-Axle + Artic Box Van, Private HGV, colour Blue.

It has been a great 'tug', much better than the Ford A series,

I can even accelerate up hills now and my fuel costs have halved."
