To remove the Front Lower Inner Crossmember you need to first remove No 1 in fig 1, then remove any cabling or wiring which runs alongside the inner crossmember.

In fig 1 No2 this is where you need to undo it from the chassis.

In Fig 2 the arrow to the left shows where to undo and the arrow to the right shows where not to undo. The sizes of nuts and bolt heads can vary, we had 15mm , 17mm and 19mm nuts and bolts so make sure you have a good mixture of spanners and sockets to hand.

When you have undone the six nuts and bolts each side ( can be a bit tricky ) you might need to use a club hammer to help persuade it to come out, fig 3 its coming out and fig 4 its out.

Note the towing eye does not have to be taken off, it can be left on by one bolt.

Recomended tools for the job.

 

Club hammer, 15 / 17 / 19 mm spanners and sockets.

Elbow grease.
